BBS brought technology developed in motorsport to the everyday auto wheel when it launched the RS in 1983. Today, the RS is one of the most legendary wheels of all time. Using a forged mesh center, and rolled rim sections the wheel achieved low weights and a presence that worked on fine road cars, and hard-tune track machines alike.
The RS was discontinued in 1995 as demand for larger diameters, and lighter weight single-piece construction wheels grew. It lives on strong to this day, however, with a cult following and aftermarket productions of hardware, and shell sections enabling restoration and customization of wheels now approaching forty years old.
