Yokohama’s first foray into the wheel league came in 1974 with the YSA and the launch of the Almex line. At the time, advertisements noted a “special design for tubeless tires” and “lightweight and strength.” Lightweight meant that 14 6J wheels weighed in at less than 7kg (6.8kg). Gold and black were the available colours.
In the late seventies, the wheel was re-branded and sold as both the Panther A AS-1 , and the Almex YSA. Today the wheel is relatively common, and quite affordable in used marketplaces.
