The AME 982 was a simple mesh wheel with a design not far from the Volk Racing Mesh. Debuting in 1982, the wheel came in both FF and FR versions, with the latter available in diameters up to 16 inches. Gold and silver were standard color options, with an ultra-rare pearl white being available for an extra cost. The wheel features a three-piece construction with the front-mounted center welded in place.
